The new UP 10DSP is a real problem solver when it comes to upgrading premium audio systems in today's vehicles. Although more and more vehicles are equipped with complex multi-channel audio systems, the sound quality does not always meet expectations.
In many cases, replacement is no longer possible, so only an amplifier with a large number of high-end tickets and sophisticated technology cannot be considered for upgrading the system. And here the new UP 10DSP offers the perfect solution.

 

Maximum connectivity


For optimal adaptation to existing multi-channel audio systems, the UP 10DSP is equipped with 6 Hi level inputs 4-16 V and 2 to 32 Volts (8 in total), an optical digital input, a MATCH expansion card slot, 10 amplifier outputs and a total 11 processed DSP channels.
In addition, smart technologies such as the proprietary ADEP.3 circuit and the 32 Bit ACO platform ensure safe operation.

 

Virtual channel processing - this is how signal routing works today


Adapting to modern OE audio systems through an increasing number of inputs has an impact on the complexity of signal routing within the amplifier. Especially when many input signals are mixed together and then split again into multi-mode systems, conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits, both in terms of application and usability.

Audiotec Fischer's new multi-stage "Virtual Channel Edit", combined with the acclaimed user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software makes it easy to realize even very complex system configurations. In addition, it allows the use of FX features such as "RealCenter" or "Augmented Bass Processing".

But the UP 10DSP, thanks to its huge number of channels combined with the optional MEC ANALOG IN module, is also an excellent example for applications where 1-to-1 routing (IOR) makes sense.
Speed ​​is everything - thanks to ACO


Such a huge number of channels requires extremely fast hardware - Audiotec Fischer's 32 Bit ACO platform takes care of all the control tasks and ensures the decisive speed increase, especially for data communication with the DSP PC-Tool software, but also for the lightning-fast switch between up to ten sound memories.

But ACO offers much more.

It features SFX sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing or RealCenter as well as a channel-separated input EQ, including the Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of the input signals of OE radios.

 

Powerhouse in compact form


Despite the massive output power of 8 x 65 Watts into 4 Ohms and 2 x 90 /160 Watts into 4 /2 Ohms in the Sub Outs, as well as the huge feature set, the UP 10DSP comes in an extremely compact design so that installation is easy even in confined spaces.

GD class technology


Audiotec Fischer's Class GD concept takes the performance of conventional Class D amplifiers to the next level. By varying the internal supply voltage in steps depending on the input signals of the amplifier, the idle losses are greatly reduced and the overall efficiency is close to the maximum at all times. Thus, heat dissipation is almost negligible, thus allowing for smaller heatsinks and more compact form factors.

 

ACO - Advanced 32-bit processor

 


The MATCH UP 10DSP amplifier incorporates an extremely powerful 32 Bit latest generation processor for all monitoring and communication tasks, both internal and external. Unlike the previous 8-Bit generation, this MCU achieves higher speeds with regard to switching and data communication setup with DSP PC-Tool software. Another major advantage is CoProcessor's built-in, native bootloader. It allows software upgrades of all DSP components in order to adapt the microcontroller controlled ADEP.3 circuit, for example in future modifications / changes to the diagnostic system of factory radios or if the device will be expanded with additional interfaces.

In addition, thanks to the new flash memory, the ACO offers 10 memory locations for sound settings instead of the common two.

Modern, factory-installed car radios include sophisticated diagnostic capabilities for connected speakers. In particular, the latest generation of car radios are equipped with additional monitoring functions, so that failure messages and the loss of certain features (eg fader function) will appear quite often if a common amplifier will be connected - but not with the MATCH UP 10DSP .
The new ADEP.3 (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection, 3rd Generation) circuit avoids all these problems without unnecessarily loading the OE radio speaker outputs at high volumes.

 

Start-Stop capability


The MATCH UP 10DSP power supply ensures a stable internal voltage even if the battery voltage drops to 6 Volts when the engine is started.

If the supply voltage drops below 10.5 Volts for more than five seconds, the amplifier goes into "Run Protection" (status LED lights up red) in order to prevent any further discharge of the car battery.

 

Automatic digital signal detection


The UP 10DSP allows controlled signal switching between analog inputs and digital input. As an input signal is detected at the optical input, the amplifier automatically switches to that input. This feature can be disabled in the DSP PC-Tool software. Alternatively, you can use an optional remote control to manually switch between analog and digital inputs.
Energy saving function


The power saving function is built into the basic setting. It allows to significantly reduce the power consumption of the UP 10DSP and possibly connected amplifiers when there is no input signal for more than 60 seconds. Please note that in many updated cars with "CAN" or any other internal BUS structure it can happen that the radio stays "invisible" on for up to 45 minutes. even after locking and exiting the car!

Once the "Energy Saver Mode" is activated, the remote output and therefore the connected amplifiers will be switched off. The MATCH UP 10DSP will re-enable the remote output within one second if it detects a music signal. It is possible to modify the 60 second shutdown time. or even disabling it via the DSP PC-Tool software..

RealCenter


The "RealCenter" function is an algorithm, developed by Audiotec Fischer, which emphasizes the musical information present in both the left and right front channels to create a unique center signal. Unlike common procedures, in which only the channels are summed, the center signal intensity is also dynamically controlled by the stereo information content of the left and right channels.
It sounds complicated, but this result is surprising: This means that if only the left or right channels produce an audio signal, the center channel will not reproduce a signal. In the case of common algorithms, the volume level of the center channel is reduced by only 6 dB (= half volume level). Audiotec Fischer's “RealCenter” enables a unique, expanded soundstage for both driver and passenger! Therefore, the disadvantages of a conventional center channel, such as an annoying, small soundstage, are a thing of the past.

 

Augmented Bass Processing


Audiotec Fischer's patented "Augmented Bass Processing", consisting of the two revolutionary sound features "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" and "SubXpander", has been specially developed to dramatically improve the bass reproduction of subwoofers.
"Dynamic Bass Enhancement" intelligently combines maximum deep bass and higher sound pressure - regardless of music style or tone controls on the head unit. Depending on the input signal, "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" acquires the lowest frequency range and changes the cutoff frequency of the subwoofer. The result is a much stronger and deeper bass response at low and medium volume levels without the risk of overloading the subwoofer either mechanically or electrically at high volume levels. It's just fascinating what bass performance is suddenly possible.
If you want an even lower and "darker" bass reproduction, you can activate the "SubXpander". Therefore, the subharmonics are added to the fundamental tones in the frequency range between 50 and 100 Hz.

 
StageXpander


Depending on the arrangement of the speakers in the vehicle, more or less wide stereo sound can be generated in the front seats. A center speaker can further limit the spatial reproduction of music. This is where Audiotec Fischer's new "StageXpander" comes in - a sound feature that seems to overcome acoustic limitations and thus allows a wider stereo base to be created without adversely affecting the accuracy of vocal or instrument localization!
The effect can be adjusted to your personal preferences in four steps.

 
ClarityXpander


Looking for more transparency and substance in your treble reproduction? With "ClarityXpander" Audiotec Fischer now offers the right tool. Correctly set (and therefore selectable in three steps) the function adds extra harmonics to the upper frequency range - this is especially useful if the original speakers lack some sparkle in the treble response. Extra treble is not only available for the two front channels but also separately adjustable for the center channel. Even better - the center channel allows the activation of an automatic and dynamic control, so that music with "loads" of treble does not tire your hearing.
